And So You Were Born
Overall Score: 94/100

Best for: Interactive books, Attention & concentration, Early literacy, Eye-hand coordination, Interaction, Music & art, Thinking & problem solving, Understanding of the world
What it is: an interactive book (about 12 pages long) about the importance of love.
What you do with it: listen to the story (or read by yourself). Touch the objects on the pages for interactions or sounds . The additional activities (containing scenes from the book) include: a simple painting activity, a memory game and puzzles. The book can be personalized with own texts (like child's name), own drawings and video or audio recordings with additional messages from parents, which will be 'inserted' in the story.
What we liked: the story, beautiful illustrations, interactive elements and activities complementing the story, sounds effects and sound backgrounds. The 'personalization' options are a nice touch, too.
What we didn't like: limited 'reading' options (words are not highlighted, no option to repeat a page). The audio (narration) quality could be better. The painting activity is a bit limited. Slow on the original iPad.
Bottom line: a beautiful story for sharing with your child.
General notes about our book reviews: although when reviewing books, we try not to review the story itself, the general impressions will be reflected in the Overall Score.
The Age Range assigned to books will be usually broader compared to other apps, as they can be useful for both younger (with parent/narrator reading) or older (reading on their own) kids.
