The Nutcracker Musical Storybook
Overall Score: 95/100
version reviewed: 1.1

Best for: Interactive books, Music & art
What it is: interactive animated story (about 25 scenes) combining original artwork by Yoko Tanaka and orchestral arrangements based on Pyotr Tchaikovski's music.
What you do with it: watch the story as a 'movie' (all scenes will be played automatically) or select chapters manually. Touch objects on pages for simple animations/sounds.
What we liked: beautiful combination of great artwork and music, ease of use.
What we didn't like: no narration (parental assistance is required for non-reading kids). The interactions are very basic (and there are no clues with objects are 'interactive'. Poor navigation controls.
Bottom line: we liked this app for beautiful illustrations and music. On the other hand it's not a 'regular' interactive storybook app (think of it as a sequence of slides with subtle animations and music). If you are not sure, please check our 'See before you buy' video (below).
