StoryToys Red Riding Hood

What it is: an interactive 'pop-up' version of Grimm Brothers' classic with extra features.
What you do with it: there are three ways to use this book ('read to me', 'read it myself', 'autoplay'). Apart from regular reading pages, you get extra activities (sorting objects, counting etc) 'immersed' in the story.
What we liked: the concept of including extra activities as a part of the the story, the 'pop-up' scenes, easy operation, nice graphics, book-like feel (contents, animations of the pages), quality narration, nice background music, 4 language versions.
What we didn't like: the layout of the reading pages and the extra text effects are not too friendly for kids just beginning to read. The paragraphs are not highlighted during reading. The objects in the 3D scenes could offer more interaction. The extra activities could offer more educational value and you get the same activities each time you read the book (can get boring). We didn't like the faces of the human characters in the story (but it may be just our personal taste).
General notes about our book reviews: although when reviewing books, we try not to review the story itself, the general impressions will be reflected in the Overall Score.
The Age Range assigned to books will be usually broader compared to other apps, as they can be useful for both younger (with parent/narrator reading) or older (reading on their own) kids.
