What it is and what you do with it: an interactive/role-play app teaching kids about money and shopping.
Two play modes.
'Virtual' store mode: go through a supermarket and fill your shopping cart with goods then make your payment using on-screen bills and coins.
'Real' store mode: print out a set of special tags for the goods in your store and a set of bills and coins. Use the iPad as a cash register, scan the tags with the camera, calculate the totals and make the payment.
What we liked: the concept. Fun and engaging 'real' store mode with creative use of visual codes and iPad's camera. Great for role-play. Excellent range of printables ('goods' tags and 'money'). Simple visuals. No distracting elements.
What we didn't like: could have more educational value (e.g. counting money, giving change). The 'virtual' store mode is very basic.
