Math vs. Aliens
Overall Score: 60/100

What it is: an app for strengthening addition and subtraction skills (numbers from 0 to 20).
What you do with it: solve simple additions and subtractions by tapping out the correct numbers of animals (e.g. you are asked to tap 4+7 giraffes).
What we liked:an interesting attempt to encourage kids to practice math. Simple illustrations with the 'aliens' theme.
What we didn't like: no voice instructions means that you need a parent sitting nearby (the app would have much more educational value when the numbers were read out). No correlation between the number of the level and the actual difficulty level (everything seems to be random). The idea behind the 'alien' themed game-like interface is good but the navigation is not very intuitive and the theme itself is not explored to the fullest. The graphics are very static. No option to turn off the (a bit annoying) background music.
