Best for: Interactive books, Attention & concentration, Early literacy, Eye-hand coordination, Interaction, Language, Understanding of the world
What it is: an interactive book/virtual trip introducing kids to landmarks and customs of Polynesia. 15 pages/scenes, 2 language versions.
What you do with it: go through the scenes (either all scenes in a sequence or by picking the scenes/places from the map), listen to the description/instructions and complete the activities (e.g. solve the flower garland puzzles, take part in the boat race, catch coconut crabs etc).
What we liked: the concept, good variety of activities complementing the story, ease of use, spoken instructions, sounds and sound backgrounds.
What we didn't like: the app could have more educational value (e.g. there is no 'real-life' explanation of the customs, activities etc). The reading options could be more 'young reader friendly'. We didn't like Zazou's (the cat) voice acting.
Free preview: if you are not sure, please see our 'See before you buy' video (below) or try the free version of the app.
