Cambugs: Letter Sounds

What it is: an app teaching letter sounds, developed in partnership with the University of Cambridge.
What you do with it: three modes of operation:
1. Sorting - the child is supposed to sort letter sounds into two piles (known/unknown)
2. Learning - the child learns the sounds from the 'unknown' pile and repeats the known sounds.
3. Testing - the child is timed to see how quickly can he/she say each sound.
There is a simple rewards system (you get a virtual 'bug' for each sound learned).
What we liked: the concept, high educational value, the option for multiple student accounts with stats for each student's progress, the tutorial/help file.
What we didn't like: a bit complex to understand at first (the navigation could be easier). May offer too little incentive for kids (accustomed to apps with much more interaction).
Additional note: please note that this is a teacher/parent tool, not standalone 'fun' app for a kid to play on his/her own.
