A Charlie Brown Christmas

What it is: an interactive book based of the TV classic. 24 interactive pages with additional activities. Features original narration by Peter Robins.

What you do with it: read the story or listen to narration and dialogues. Touch objects/characters on pages for animations and interactions (e.g. dialogues with speech bubbles, play the tune on the piano etc). Unlock rewards (Christmas decorations) by completing sequences of actions on 13 pages.

What we liked: the story, illustrations and animations, sounds and sound backgrounds, professional narration, reading options (including words highlighting and option to have single words read out by the narrator), overall quality of the app.

What we didn't like: some of the interactions are very simple (e.g. the character just jumps when touched). Some kids may be disappointed with the actual reward in the Light & Display contest (finding all the required items requires much time and effort).

Note about in-app purchases: the in-app purchases are not required to complete the book but unfortunately the links to the paid items/packs/extended scenes are easily available to a child.

Bottom line: an excellent app for Christmas (and a must-have for all Peanuts fans).
