Vlad's Vampire Bats
Overall Score: 87/100

Best for: Interactive books, Attention & concentration, Early literacy, Eye-hand coordination, Interaction, Language, Understanding of the world
What it is:an interactive book (17 pages long) with a 'bats and vampires' theme. 5 language versions.
What you do with it:listen to the story (or read it yourself) and interact with the objects on the pages (sounds, animations).
What we liked: the story, nice illustrations, easy operation. The music, sound effects and interactive elements complementing the story. Spoken clues.
What we didn't like: the reading options and navigation could be better (words are not highlighted, there is no option to repeat a page, there is no way to access a particular page). Some interactive elements may be not too engaging for the target age group. The narration is available only in English (the other languages are 'read by myself' only).
Bottom line: a cute (and not scary at all) interactive story recommended for all the young vampires using the iPhone/iPad.
General notes about our book reviews: although when reviewing books, we try not to review the story itself, the general impressions will be reflected in the Overall Score.
The Age Range assigned to books will be usually broader compared to other apps, as they can be useful for both younger (with parent/narrator reading) or older (reading on their own) kids.
