Striding Bird: Uplifting Tale
Overall Score: 57/100

Best for: Interactive books, Attention & concentration, Early literacy, Interaction, Language, Music & art, Personal & social, Understanding of the world
What it is: an interactive book about a bird learning about the world.
What you do with it: read the book yourself or press the voice icon for the narrator, touch the screen for extra effects (like the scene changing from day to night etc).
What we liked: nice illustrations, extra menu for accessing single pages of the book.
What we didn't like: text is not highlighted when it is read by the narrator, no automatic 'read to me' option (you have to press the voice icon on each page), limited interaction (just one effect per page), the animations are rather simple. The 'slide to turn the page' gesture is not well set up (fortunately you can use the 'double tap' gesture to go to the next/previous page).
General notes about our book reviews: although when reviewing books, we try not to review the story itself, the general impressions will be reflected in the Overall Score.
The Age Range assigned to books will be usually broader compared to other apps, as they can be useful for both younger (with parent/narrator reading) or older (reading on their own) kids.
